My name is Yara (think Seinfeld's 'yada yada yada'). I was born in Nicaragua, grew up in Cambridge, MA, went to college in NYC and spent some time living in Italy. I began learning basic HTML and CSS during my junior year of college, and I quickly found myself wanting to make this more than just a hobby (a big thanks to my friends and family who encouraged me to do so!). After graduating and saving up I was able to enroll in an intensive web development certificate program and am now completing 12 weeks at HackReactor. I feel lucky to have found a career that combines my passion with creativity and analytical thinking.
A few random tidbits: I am the youngest of four, I have traveled to four continents (and hope to someday make that seven), love to draw, and I have a rescue Boston Terrier/Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix named Roo. She is my partner in crime and accompanies me on all my life adventures.
